How the GRE revised general test is scored?

The GRE revised general test score can be classified into two. The consolidated verbal reasoning and the quantitative reasoning score. The other one is the AWA score. The quant scoring is done on a scale of 130-170 and the verbal reasoning score in the GRE is also calculated on a scale of 130-170 as well. The consolidated verbal and quant score therefore is on a scale of 260 to 340.

Any score above 275 may fetch you an admission if you are looking for an admission in any school. If you are looking for an admission in a pretty decent school then you should look beyond 300. If get anything above 315 your admission is guaranteed into any decent schools. If you score a 325 plus top schools like Harvard or Stanford might be at your reach.

You will know your consolidated GRE score immediately after completing your exam where as you will come to know about your AWA score 15 days after your examination. The scores are reported to your designated recipients. Additional score reports can be available at a marginal cost. Your GRE score will be valid for 5 years.
