GRE revised general test or GRE general test?

GRE General Test vs GRE Revised General Test

As on today the correct way to call the GRE test is the GRE General Test.  In 2011 when ETS prefixed GRE general test with the word “revised” it was necessary to differentiate between the old version of the GRE test and new version the test. However the old GRE scores are no longer valid as the normal validity for a GRE test score is only 5 years.  Consequently ETS does not have to report scores of the GRE tests that are taken before 2011 August. However the word General will continue to be a part of the nomenclature as we have to distinguish GRE general test from GRE Subject tests.
