Definition

Campus recruitment is a program conducted by companies within the educational institutions to hire students directly from the campus.

Background

Fcrtinding the right people for the right job has always been a herculean undertaking for a recruiter. The traditional approach to solve this problem was to use all possible channels of communications to reach the prospective employees. However the failure of this approach led to a lot of soul searching among the corporate head hunters and resulted in the emergence of campus recruitment. Initially they targeted the elite temples of education such as IITs and IIMs however when the demand outweighed the supply they set their eyes on Normal colleges.

 Process:

Most organizations adopt a three-tier process for the recruitment including an aptitude test followed by either a Group discussion or Jam session. The last round normally involves a personal interview. Going through these herculean processes would be daunting and even disconcerting for most fresh graduates.
